This weekend's Winterton Show will see a host
of support from Thomas Bell Country Store.
As well as sponsoring the hunter classes, they
will also support the poultry show.

Bell Winners at Crowle

The
hunter and riding horse classes at this year's
Crowle Show were well supported and sponsored
by Thomas Bell Country Store.
Winner of the Best Riding Horse was Katie Moulds
and her young grey horse Hov who proved a popular
choice. Equine Manager at Thomas Bell
Country Store, Katie was delighted with the
win for the Brigg-based company.
The Thomas Bell Country Store sponsored Large
Ridden Hunter went to Tim Smith and Lowmoor
Last Chance, to add to a number of
successes under their belt already this season.
The pair went on to take the championship under
judge Nigel Wakefield.

Bell at Lincolnshire Show

Two
of the Thomas Bell Country Store team, Sarah
Chandler and Alice Ladlow on their stand
at the Lincolnshire Show. The company
were out in force at the show, promoting the
range of clothing and were very busy over the
two days.
Store manager Graeme King said: "The show
was excellent for us and we spoke to a lot of
people. The store is going from strength
to strength and we were delighted to get so
much positive feedback."

Pony
Club Event A Big Success

Competitors
turned out in force for the Scunthorpe Pony
Club Jan Laughton Memorial One Day Event.
Sponsored this year by Brigg based Thomas Bell
Country Store, competitors travelled to the
Normanby Park venue from all over the region,
hoping to win the great prizes donated by the
store.
Competitors really enjoyed the cross country
course which crossed over the Normanby Estate
parkland, incorporating a challenging water
complex and tricky combinations.
In the 12 years and under section first place
was awarded to Jessica Varley from the Burghley
Pony Club who finished on a score of 36.76.
Runner up prize went to Sara Kirwin and third
prize was awarded to Hannah Barth from Epworth,
riding Oliver.
This lucky combination was not only awarded
a prize from sponsors Thomas Bell but Hannah
also received the Rascal Shield for the highest
place Scunthorpe and District Pony Club member
under 10-years-old.
The Pre Novice proved a popular class with both
first place Steph Wells, and second place Lin
Brocklesby , finishing on their dressage.
Third Prize went to Ghislaine Fowler on Charlie
who performed a classy Cross Country round and
went foot perfect in the show jumping. The Pair
received the Judy Bingham Shield for the highest
place Scunthorpe member.
Holly Woodhead took first place in the Novice
class and finished on her dressage score of
32.41. Karen Lamb and Bertie Bubble were runner
up and received the Mick Waring memorial trophy
for the highest placed Scunthorpe member.
The Prince Romonof Cup was also awarded in this
section to Charlotte Sutton for the best dressage
score of an impressive 27.59, however they did
not have as much luck in the show jumping.
The non-member Novice class also proved very
popular with 26 competitors all battling it
out for first place. Anna Fraser and Axel fought
off the competition to win the class on her
dressage score of 25.71 closely followed by
Sian Williams and Jasmine who took the runner
place and third prize was awarded to Rosie Newsam
and Jester.
The Open proved a challenging course, and many
competitors turned out to tackle the 3ft 6ins
fences.
Nicola Whitmore riding Glenayre Bay Surf had
a superb day and were crowned champions with
a score of 33.45.
The Jan Laughton Memorial Trophy for the highest
placed Scunthorpe member and the Spy Hill for
the best dressage score were awarded to the
successful pair along with prizes donated by
Thomas Bell Country Store.
Elizabeth Rooney and Capercaille II from the
Scunthorpe branch just missed out and came in
second with a finishing score of 36.21.
A great day was had by all competitors, and
Thomas Bell Country Store were delighted to
be sponsoring the event.

Make sure you don’t miss out on a fantastic
family day at Lincolnshire Show.
Thomas Bell Country Store will be attending
the “County Event of the Year” on
June 21st and 22nd, 2006. Gates open from 8am
until 6pm.
Come and see the latest ranges from all the
leading brands, visit stand 375 on either Wednesday
or Thursday and say hello to the Thomas Bell
team.
This year we will also be joining in the celebrations
of the 21st Brocklesby County Fair in the beautiful
setting of the private parklands belonging to
the Earl and Countess of Yarborough.
The Fair takes place on June 24th and will be
open from 10.00am-6.00pm with the grounds open
to the public at 9.00am. Come and visit our
stand and help support the local community.
